Helpful communication with information about the upcoming ACA reporting deadlines. As a reminder, this reporting requirement applies to Applicable Large Employers (ALEs)* (s6056) and/or employers with self-insured health plans** (s6055). ALEs with a self-funded plan are required to comply with both reporting obligations.
Upcoming ACA Reporting Deadlines:
- Provide forms to employees or post a notice on your website by March 2, 2026
- File with the IRS electronically by March 31, 2026
Lastly, some states have their own ACA reporting requirements related to health coverage. For example, California, the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont require employer reporting of health coverage information to assist the state/district in enforcing health coverage mandates. If you have employees in these states, check state laws to ensure compliance.
*An employer is considered an ALE if they employ, on average, at least 50 full-time employees, including full-time equivalent employees, during the preceding calendar year.
**Level-funded plans and ICHRAs are included in this.
